The Danforth Learning Center building is a 57,000 SF multi-story office building built in downtown St. Louis for Nestle Purina Petcare. This building houses Nestle’s Human Resource Department, a Conference Center and the Learning Center. “Sustainable building attributes reflect our corporate culture, which helps us to attract top talent,” says Diane Herndon, manager of sustainability at Nestle Purina.
LANDCO was an instrumental team member, coordinating all of the multiple subcontractors to complete this building within an extremely aggressive schedule. This project included an insulated pre-cast concrete panel exterior on a 4-story structure with low-E reflective glass curtain wall system and an insulated TPO membrane roof. Two large arrays of solar cells were installed on the roof of the building to produce electricity and hot water. Waste diversion during the project was 84.7 % and recycled content of new construction materials was 36.5%.
The Danforth Learning Center building achieved LEED-Gold certification from the USGBC in 2012.
