Greg Zuzack, LANDCO’s Vice President, Awarded G.C. Office Employee of the Year by ASA Midwest Council

ASA recognized the ethics and practices of some of the best subcontractors, general contractors, field and office personnel in the construction industry at the ASA Midwest Council’s Annual Awards Gala held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Four Seasons Hotel.

“I would like to congratulate this year’s recipient of the G.C. Office Employee of the Year – Greg Zuzack of LANDCO Construction,” said Tim Thomas, ASA – Midwest Council presenter.

Greg Zuzack is Vice president with LANDCO Construction and is a graduate of St. Louis University. Zuzack has over 30 years of experience in the St. Louis commercial construction market, in the areas of Business Development, Strategic Planning, Preconstruction and Project Management. Zuzack is an accredited LEED Green Associate, and is actively involved with IFMA and BOMA. Zuzack has managed some of the most complex and high profile projects in the region, and recently presented the topic of “Five Common Project Management Mistakes of Construction Projects and How to Avoid Them” at the IFMA Chapter Meeting in August of 2016.

One of Greg’s clients stated the following of his leadership ability: “Greg Zuzack went beyond the call of duty to ensure that our daycare expansion was a success. Greg was there every step of the way, providing guidance, and made sure nothing was missed. Greg is a great problem solver and was always there when I had a question. Greg Zuzack is truly a huge asset to LANDCO and I would have been lost without him.” Christine Ferguson – CENTENE

Greg Zuzack told the ASA gala audience:
“Every Tuesday at 3:00 in our company’s weekly meeting – you can set your watch by it, we get together to talk about opportunities that we’re pursuing, ongoing projects and company events. Not too far back, our CEO, Ron Landolt, had mentioned to the team that I was going to win this award. I was quite surprised. In fact, one of our associates said, “Look at Greg. He’s blushing!” And it’s true. I felt humbled and honored to be selected by a group of subcontractors for this award.

There are so many people to thank this evening. But first of all, I’d like to thank you, the subcontractors. I’ve had the great privilege to work with a very well qualified group of people who have a difficult job, with sometimes unrealistic expectations that we, as the general contractor, have at times. But I commend you, and I value your relationships and friendships dearly.

I’d also like to thank my boss, Ron Landolt, who took a chance on me nine years ago. I’ve learned more from him than he could probably ever imagine. It says a lot about who he is as a man and as a leader for our company that we’ve been nominated, I believe, four times for the ASA GC of the Year Award, and we’ve won twice – maybe a third time this evening. And I happen to be the third recipient from our company who has won this award. So thank you, Ron. I very much appreciate your leadership.

To our field operations manager, Steve Brown, who is sitting at our table: Steve, without your friendship, your support, and putting up with a lot, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do. To our support staff who couldn’t be here this evening: Peggy, Kimberly, Linda, Laura and Marcia – you have an incredibly difficult job that makes what I do look easy to everyone. I couldn’t do it without you.

And lastly, I want to recognize someone who doesn’t get a lot of public recognition, who never complains and is always thinking about other people, who is always there to listen when I’ve had a difficult day or a challenging situation to deal with. She never complains about the late hours, sometimes working on Saturdays or at home. I want to thank my partner in life, my wife Dawn. I do what I do for her, and I wouldn’t be where I’m at or the person I am without her. Thank you, Dawn.

I’m going to put this award in my office where I can look at it every day, as a reminder of the expectations you have for working with a general contractor. Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

To quote LANDCO Construction’s CEO, Ron Landolt:
“Greg exemplifies a high level of character, competency, and capacity, which are traits that every employer is looking for in their employees. It goes without saying that Greg is truly a genuine leader in our construction industry. I am extremely proud of all of his accomplishments and pleased to have Greg on my team.” Ron Landolt – LANDCO
